Glasgow Tigers speedway is deeply rooted in the local community in Glasgow. We are also committed to fostering strong links with local people and organisations in and around the city.

Local Roots

The club is owned by Michael and Gerry Facenna, also owners of Allied Vehicles Ltd. The brother were born and raised in Saracen Street, where their father ran a local garage. Based just along the road from Ashfield Stadium, Allied is the UK’s leading specialist vehicle manufacturer and supplier.

The company employs 460 people, mostly from the local community.

Youth Development

Glasgow Tigers are keen to encourage Scottish and ideally local talent to enter the sport. Future plans for the speedway
organisation include try-out days and a speedway academy for aspiring young riders. We are also working with our
co-occupants, Ashfield FC, to create a proactive youth football development programme.

The Tigers are in discussion with Glasgow City Council, North Glasgow Housing Association and other local organisations to shape our plans for these exciting new initiatives.

Other Opportunities

We are also keen to involve the local community with the Tigers revolution. There are opportunities for individuals and all types of local community group to participate in match day operations, providing valuable voluntary or work experience and fund-raising opportunities for local clubs and associations.
