RICKY Wells has become Glasgow’s third signing – joining from rivals Edinburgh Monarchs.
The New Zealand-born American international has spent the last three seasons at Armadale, but becomes the latest in a long line of riders to race for both Scottish clubs. He joins fellow American Broc Nicol, and young Australian reserve Connor Bailey, in the 2020 line-up so far.
Manager Cami Brown said:
“Ricky is on an attractive average – as we feel he is worth more than the figure he finished last season on.
“He’s been a top performer at this level in the past and has had lots of great guest appearances for us – including in the 2018 play-offs when he performed superbly in the absence of Craig Cook – so we know him well.
“He also brings lots of top-flight and international experience – but he still has plenty of improvement in him at the age of 28.
“We hope a change of scenery will help push Ricky on and get back to the levels he was hitting a couple of seasons ago.
“It is another exciting signing for the Tigers and I know Ricky is really looking forward to becoming part of the set-up here.”
Ricky joins on an average of 7.05.
